Season Overview
- League start date: June 21st / League end date: August 4th- (OFF July 4th week)
- Games held at MSA in Saco and MBA in Portland **No Weekend Play**
- Air Conditioned Facilities!
- 8 games + playoff (Each team will play 2 games on Tuesday evening or on Thursday evening)
- 1 referee per game
- No gate fees
- Boys and Girls entering grades 3rd through 8th
- Town Team, Rec Teams, and AAU teams’ welcome!
- Team Fee- $600 per team
- Free Agent Fee- $150 per person (includes reversible jersey) – club teams will be assembled prior to league start date.
- Dedicated league directors working to ensure competitive games and organized league
- There are two ways to play- register as a Free Agent and get assigned to a team OR register a team in the league.
Rules
- 60 minutes will be allotted for scheduling game times.
- Teams will be given 5 minutes for pre-game warmup and 3 minutes at halftime.
- There is to be no shooting around by other teams during timeouts as coaches are speaking with their teams.
- Timeouts are to be 60 seconds in length.
- Each team will get 3 timeouts during regulation and 1 TOTAL during overtime.
- Each game will be two twenty-minute halves running time with stop time during timeouts and during the last 2 minutes of each half.
- Overtime will be 3 minutes long and, should there be a second overtime, it will be sudden death. Each overtime period will begin with a jump ball.
- Teams will be in the bonus situation on the 7th foul (1&1) and in double bonus on the 10th. (2 shots). Players in grades 6 and below may go over the line when shooting a free throw.
- Players will foul out on their 5th foul.
- In grades 7/8 high school rules will be utilized. Pressing is allowed.
- In grades 6 and below teams may only press, including trapping or using run-and-jump, in the last 7 minutes of each half and only until they have a 10 point lead.
- Zone defense is not permissible at any point. You may only double-team the ball once it is inside the three-point arc.
- If a coach or player receives a second technical in the season they will be suspended for one game. A third technical will result in removal from the league.
- Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their fans.
- Coaches are responsible for providing one responsible parent to run either the score clock or to keep the scorebook.
